The goal of the Aurora Expedition is to establish the first privately-run scientific base in Marie Byrd Land, Antarctica!

On this website you'll find a framework, a set of ideas. In all likelihood, this is not how the station will actually be established; this is merely one approach, and demonstrates, step by step, that it's possible. It provides ideas that can be modified, tweaked, and adapted ― and that, hopefully, will inspire those who read it. When the expedition begins, it is likely that some of the ideas here will seem childishly optimistic. Acting on a vision is by its very nature an act of optimism and faith. It's far from the gray of pragmatism. It has to shine, and look a little ostentatious. By reading this, you're helping optimism grow in the world.
